Happy 70th Birthday, Christ Presbyterian Church,

Today, May 13, is the actual day that Charter Members made the first membership commitment to this church, thus starting a new congregation on the East Side of Tucson.

How amazing.

And here we are, 70 years later, enjoying the benefits of all they did to have a place where people could come and learn the faith, and then go and live it.

I am sure they never thought about email.

But here we are, using email to grow in our faith, to send out that others may grow and learn, and live.

Over the years, the church has used new ways to proclaim the Good News of God's grace in Jesus the Christ.

In five years, it'll be the 75th.  In 70 more years, it'll be the 140th.  What will life be like then?  Who knows...   

But what I do know is that we will use all the ways we can to invite people into a relationship with God through Jesus as the Messiah.

So, get ready.  Today we give thanks to the past, and commit ourselves to being part of the present.... and the future.
