Welcome to fall... in Tucson... which is now under an excessive heat warning... 106 degrees or more by Saturday.

Now really..... 106 isn't all that hot for Tucson, but it is for this time of year, and to be honest, most of us are done with the summer heat, and ready for the cooler fall season.

But the weather forecasters are preparing us for what's ahead so that we can be ready.... by preparing ourselves:  making sure we hydrate, change some outdoor plans, make sure the AC still works, finding shaded parking, etc.

All of that preparations get us through the challenge of the heat.

And now the religious twist..  you knew it was coming, didn't you?

I'm not worried about the heat of what's next in the life after this one.... but I am doing what I can to prepare.... to be in God's presence, fully.

I am learning the ways of Christ, the ways of grace and peace and inclusion, and working at living them now to prepare myself for what will be...

I am doing what I can so that it is on earth as it is in heaven.  (I heard that in a prayer somewhere).

Forecasters have been telling us that someday we will be with God.  Let's get ready now!
