#CPC Wednesday Message 7-5-23

Wednesday Greetings,

In June, I had the privilege of walking the "Freedom Trail" in Boston.  It was amazing to visit sites of the American Revolution and to walk in the steps of those who went before, who had a vision of a country based on freedom for all, and a democracy that would represent all fairly.  This is me at the Old North Church (think Paul Revere and his lanterns)It was humbling to think of all that happened, and all those who made it happen.Yesterday, on the 4th of July, I had the opportunity to celebrate with a small family BBQ and swim, and watch the fireworks.  Not exactly revolutionary.I remain committed to finding ways in my own life to create "liberty and justice for all."  I know I'm not always great at it; I know sometimes I don't notice when I'm a part of the problem rather than the solution.   I know we have not achieved it, fully, yet.  I celebrate the steps of victory; I work toward the steps of fully living out the ideals of the Revolution. It's July 5th.  Maybe if we all walked a little closer in the steps of the "Freedom Trail" we would find ourselves, all of ourselves, free.May it be so.... soon.
Peace in our journeys,
Pastor Steve Melde
