O God,  Where are you?

As the earth has shaken, lives are lost, trapped, devastated.  We see the pictures and videos, and our hearts ache for the people of Turkey and Syria whose lives have been affected by the earthquake.

We see the pictures and videos, and hear the stories of the people of Ukraine, struggling to find hope in a war that is beyond comprehension.

We watched as our elected officials jockey for their own positions, all the while people in our own country continue to struggle to survive another day.  

Where are you, God?

May you be in me, as I pray this prayer.   May your love flow through me throughout the world.  May my life be a witness that you are in the challenges and hurts of this world.  Thank you for all the people who have jumped into action to help.  Thank you for my taxes that go to help others around the world who need help.  Thank you for my giving that reaches out through church resources to help.

God, be in me, that you might be through me into all the world.  Help me do my part, in my way, in my place to be that visible witness of your presence in every part of your creation.

We need you, God.  Big time.
