#CPC Wednesday Message 11-13-24
Wednesday Greetings,
I found it... actually I found two!
Christmas Music stations on my Sirius/XM radio in the car!
And last week, I started listening to Christmas music. And it's early November.
I know some say we shouldn't do that till after Thanksgiving. The early church said we should not do it until Christmas day... and then sing the Christmas songs in the time after Christmas... we should only be singing Advent songs now.
But I started. And I'm good with it. I don't listen all the time when I'm in the car. I switch back and forth between stations. And much of the time, lately, I just turn off the radio. There's too much noise in the world as it is...
... but that's precisely why I started listening to Christmas music already. I figure if there's going to be noise, it ought to be the noise of God's great gift of Jesus in our lives. It's an amazing gift.
"Peace on earth," the angels sang out.
I think that's pretty great noise.
What kind of noise are you listening to? What kind of noise are you making?
I hope it's about God's incredible love and grace in Jesus the Christ.
Merry Christmas, a little early this year.
Today's noise is brought to you by God.... Peace on Earth.
