#CPCtucsonaz Wednesday Message 4-29-26
Wednesday Greetings,
Change of Plans...
I had to go back inside and get a sweatshirt.
I'll admit it.... I'm a self-proclaimed-weather-woosey! If it's below 70 degrees, I'm cold. Tucson is in a great time of year right now. Our days are averaging in the mid-80's, and our nights, well, sometimes in the upper 50's, mostly the low 60's. I thought I was alright, with my pants and short-sleeved shirt, but as I went to get into my car this morning... I was cold. And why fight that feeling when all I have to do is adjust and put on a sweatshirt? So, I went back into the house and got a sweatshirt. (it was a light one, not too heavy).
And of course, I thought, why can't I apply that principle to everything in my life... especially my faith in God through Jesus the Christ?!
I believe that God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
But I believe I am not, and neither is my faith, my understanding of God, and my relationship with God. There have been many times when I have had to adjust. I've learned something. I've seen it from a new perspective. Something has come my way that has caused me to change.
And like adding a sweatshirt, I've had to adjust... even in my faith. I don't change my faith with every whim that comes my way, but I also don't think I need to stay in one way of thinking all my life. My faith is growing, changing, evolving (Yes, I used that word on purpose).
So, I put on a sweatshirt and faced the chill. And when it warms up, I'll just have my short-sleeved shirt and face the warmth.
You?
Peace in our journeys,
Pastor Steve Melde
