A prayer for today....

God, we need help finding your leading...

We humans are so lost.  There's so much violence and animosity amongst us.  It's tearing us apart.

Someone stole Mrs. Guthrie, The Epstein files show years of abuse of young girls, our round up of human beings is anything but humane, our elected officials dig in on behalf of their party rather than on behalf of our country, families and friends no longer talk to each other over differences of opinion, Christians fight amongst each other and pray that you would be on their side (whatever side that might be) rather than seeking to be on your side, the people of the Middle East in Gaza and Israel continue to work against each other, and so much more than what we even know.

We are so lost.

It's like the people in the Exodus wilderness feeling lost.

Yet, you led them.  You appeared as a pillar of fire and smoke, leading them for forty years.  How odd, sometimes they didn't notice and felt lost.

Help us to see how you're leading today because we aren't noticing.  We spend more time asking you to be on our side than seeking to be on yours.  We spent more time talking about and at people than with people.

We're lost, God, without you.

Have you withdrawn?  

Help us like you helped the people in the Exodus.  Be an obvious sign so that we know when, how, where to go as you lead.  Take us home.

May it be on earth as it is in heaven, soon...

AMEN
