Wednesday Greetings,
Potential
It's the time of year when many places across our country are enjoying the Fall leaf color changes. The reds, oranges, and yellows... all come from the green summer leaf.
In Tucson, there isn't a lot of change, so I drove up Mt. Lemmon last Sunday afternoon, just to catch a glimpse. It was a little early, but some of the Aspens had begun to turn.
It's always an amazing process to see the green leaves emerge in the Spring, do their work in the summer, then turn colors in the fall. Oh, and yes, then fall off in the Winter.
All of that comes from the bud that produces the leaf!
We were reminded by our liturgist last Sunday that in the bulb there is a flower... unrevealed until its season... something God alone can see.
I'm always grateful to know that God sees potential in us, despite our mistakes. I'm even more grateful that God sees even greater potential in us in our successes.
There's so much more within us that we don't even realize. But I believe, through the Holy Spirit, God is working within us to bring it out. Through prayer, patience, worship, study, patience, (did I say patience enough yet?)... it all comes together, and soon, the potential is realized.
What's God doing in you?
Peace in our journeys,
Pastor Steve Melde
