It takes a village to raise a pastor.... well, it takes a church, really.

Two years ago today I underwent surgery to repair the fractured heels I endured as a result of a fall from the ladder (only 12 feet, but my two feet, heels, were shattered).

I write today, not for you to congratulate me on the work I've done to get back to walking (yes, it still hurts with every step), and actually today, not to thank God for all the healing work God did in me (but wow did God do a lot of work)....

I write today, to thank you for the work you did to raise up this pastor.  You rallied around me, praying, bringing meals, sending notes of encouragement, giving me time to heal, urging me on, reminding me it's ok to sit to preach and lead worship, to tell me your stories, to help me see God in the midst of my challenge.

You raised me up.  The pain, disappointment, anger, depression, sadness, challenge... was overwhelming.  You helped me bear the burden and lifted me up from the depths.

Thank you!
