Wednesday Greetings,

One of the gifts of Tucson is all of the nice, sunny days.  I always say to our winter residents, "You don't have to shovel sunshine."And then come the clouds. And in a city that prides itself on its sunshine, you'd think that cloudy days would be gloomy. But we love a cloudy day, especially in the morning and evening.  The clouds catch the rays of the sun and light up with oranges and purples and colors that Crayola could never create.  During the day they provide a welcome relief from the brightness of the sun.Finding the goodness in all things is an act of faith.  It's not always easy, but it's important to do.  Recognizing that God is present in all things, creating goodness even in the midst of challenging struggles is an act of faith.  And as hard as it is sometimes, it's important to do.It's what we Christians do.We look at the crucifixion and see its awfulness, and we see God at work, shining God's faithfulness into our unfaithfulness.  And that challenges us to never allow that cruelty again.   And then goodness is revealed.  And then we give thanks... for God.It's what we Christians do.Welcome to the week before Thanksgiving...  let's do what Christians do!
Peace in our journeys,
Pastor Steve Melde
