It was an unexpected downpour.  Yesterday morning the skies clouded over, the thunder clapped, and the rain fell.  

It was glorious!

And I'm sure it ruined someone's walk.

Life's like that, isn't it?  

Suddenly there's a downpour of something unexpected and it feels like it ruins our walk.  But only if we let it.  Only if we see it from our perspective.  It's hard being the one out on a walk... that started in beautiful sunshine, only to be caught in the storm.

It's easier to stand under the eaves of a roof over my head and enjoy the rain.

Life's like that, isn't it?

Sometimes we are a part of something unexpected when we feel protected and sometimes it catches us when we are out on the walk.

But in both circumstances, I'm working at remembering... the rain stops, the sun shines, and life goes on.

Wherever you are.... you are not alone.  God is with us when life is good and when life is really challenging.

I'm sure it was true that night Jesus was born.  For some, life was going really well; some couldn't even find a roof over their head, all the inns were full.  But there, in the midst of it all, was God revealing Godself in Jesus.  Right in the middle of it all.

I pray you find your way through whatever you face, knowing God is still in it with you.
