In the Old Testament story of Elijah, 1 Kings 19, we learn something about Elijah that is good for us to learn, too.

Standing on the edge of a mountain, Elijah was confronted by a great wind, an earthquake, a fire ... and didn't experience God in them.

It wasn't until there was sheer silence that Elijah had a life-changing experience with God.

Certainly in the past Elijah had experience God in those great and earth shattering ways, but this day, it was just in the silence that Elijah was able to hear God and have an experience of God in his life.

Remember... there are all sorts of ways that God reveals Godself to us.  Don't just try to experience God in the expected ways, but in the unexpected ones.
