I was reading through some psalms and came to Psalm 45.  I found the opening verse challenging (and the rest of the psalm interesting).

"My heart overflows with a goodly theme; I address my verses to the king; my tongue is like the pen of a ready scribe."  Psalm 45:1

I remembered the old phrase... sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.  Which, really, is a nice sentiment, but not true for most of us.  

Words matter.

If your heart overflows with a goodly theme... then what comes from your mouth, guided by the movement of your tongue... matters.  And if your heart is based in God's gracious love in Jesus the Christ, then... the words that come from your tongue.... can also really represent the Word of God.  Like a scribe waiting to write what we are inspired to write... to speak... God has called us to speak love.... 

Imagine if we all did that... all the time...
