#Wednesday Message 3-26-25
Wednesday Greetings,
This time of year I am reminded to be careful in my prayer life... not to expect God to answer my prayer in the way I want it... because someone else is praying the opposite.
A friend of mine posted on Social Media yesterday... Go Duke!
What? University of Arizona Wildcats!!! Come one..
The two men's basketball teams face each other in tomorrow's Sweet 16 battle toward the NCAA men's basketball championship.
And I want UA to win, not Duke!
Isn't it interesting to know that two people of faith are praying for the opposite outcome? How will God answer both our prayers....
The answer is... faithfully... we cannot always expect God to do as we say/want/request.... I think we are supposed to do what God says/wants/requests.... we have to be careful not to switch those roles!
I guess... Not my will but yours be done.... that Jesus spoke is always a good ending to prayer... but really.... it's ok for both of us to put out our requests... and then... to let things happen as they do. Neither of us can expect God to be on our side... aren't we supposed to be on God's side?
Well, you get it... so be careful in the expected outcomes of your prayers... which really should only be to become better connected to God...
Peace in our journeys,
Pastor Steve Melde
