Some days...

are just harder than others.


 It's in those days that I read from Psalm 13:
"How long, O Lord?" the Psalm begins

The Psalm writer is struggling.  Whatever challenge(s) are being faced don't seem to end, and it feels like God has turned away, forgotten the writer.

And then... the writer says:
"But I trusted in your steadfast love"

And suddenly the tone of the writing changes, the tone of the feelings change...  The writer remembers that God was trusted in the past, that God has been good before...

It's just that momentary change, that slight change of mind that makes all the difference in the current challenge.  And the writer begins to sing ... a song of joy.

Maybe today, you would do well to read Psalm 13 and make them your words.
