Wednesday Message 12-23-2020

Wednesday Greetings,

'Twas the day before Christmas Eve
and oh that poor church mouse
Few crumbs would be left in the pews this year
There won't be many worshiping at God's house.

Well, that's about as poetic as I can get about Christmas this year as the pandemic has brought us to a point again where we need to stay separated and on-line rather than pack into the Sanctuary or Fellowship Hall to worship this Christmas Eve.

I will miss seeing all of your faces lit up during the singing of Silent Night as you hold your candles.

Jeremiah 31:33
“But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel after those days,” says the LORD. “I will put my instructions deep within them, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people."

Until we are able to gather in the worship space together again to celebrate the birth of Jesus, Immanuel, God-with-Us, we trust that God's dwelling place is not just in a building, but also in our hearts.  The Spirit of God is deep within us, all around us, and always with us.

As the vaccines are rolled out, I'm quite confident we will be together in the church building next year, until then, join us on-line for our Christmas Eve worship services, watch for our special on-line postings on Christmas Day.  If you're worshiping on Facebook, be sure to take time to make a comment, share it to your own page as you invite others to worship.

And.... let your heart be open.... It, too, is God's dwelling place.

I miss you all.  My love and prayers are with you this Christmas Season.

"See" you on-line.

Peace in our journeys,
Pastor Steve Melde
