Ash Wednesday Message 2-26-20

Ash Wednesday Greetings,

Today, Ash Wednesday, we are marked.

We not only remember that we are dust and unto dust we shall return, we remember that we are the Lord's and unto the Lord we shall return.

Today, we are marked.

We are marked with the symbol of the cross to remind ourselves and to show the world, who we choose as our Shepherd.

The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord, forever.
 Psalm 23

As Lent begins, may you grow deeper in your following of Jesus as your Shepherd, who leads us all into the house of the Lord, forever.

We still have services available for you today:
12:15 p.m.; 5:30 p.m.; 6:30 p.m.
These half hour prayer services will help you get started on your Lenten journey.  Come join us.

Peace in our journeys,
Pastor Steve Meld
